Through reading and discussion of Dr. Zeitz's memoir, Waging Justice: A Doctor's Journey to Speak Truth and Be Bold, the objective of the course is for participants to gain clarity and courage for embracing vulnerability, optimism, and justice in every aspect of their lives. During each class we will explore: 1) making choices on how we live our lives and how we have an impact in the world; 2) applying “waging justice” values: speaking truth, being bold, and serving justice for all; and 3) aspects of the interrelationship between one's inner healing, healing our relationships, and the opportunities and challenges of joining forces with others to usher in a more just and peaceful world. Class members should read Part 1 of Waging Justice, pages 3-75, before the first class.
