Philip Shenon is an award-winning investigative journalist and former New York Times reporter of more than 20 years. He is the author of three major books, including the bestsellers A Cruel and Shocking Act: The Secret History of the Kennedy Assassination and The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation. His latest work, Jesus Wept: Seven Popes and the Battle for the Soul of the Catholic Church, has been praised by Kirkus Reviews as “an extraordinary accomplishment” and by Booklist as “endlessly fascinating” and “highly readable.” At The Times, Shenon reported from more than 60 countries and covered Washington institutions such as the Pentagon, Justice Department, FBI, State Department, and Congress.

Shenon's book, Jesus Wept: Seven Popes and the Battle for the Soul of the Catholic Church will be available for purchase and signing immediately following the lecture.

Reservations are required to attend in-person lectures. In-person lectures will be held in the Spring Valley Building, 4801 Massachusetts Ave. NW, in Room A on the First Floor. Registration for the above lecture will open here at 10:00 AM on the Friday prior to the lecture. The direct registration link will also be included in the Friday newsletter the week prior. You must have an OLLI account to register.
