Plutarch’s said it, and we will validate it: “Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks.” Viewing multicultural artwork inspires many styles of poetry. We will view art, draft poems, and compile a class chapbook illustrated with personal or public-domain artwork. Come join the daily writing, reflecting, and sharing the poems inspired by the paintings of diverse students and faculty members in Experience Poems and Pictures: Poetry that Paint Pictures that Speak.
