See much more in life through unique art experiences designed to build your visual fitness skills and knowledge. Enjoy eye-opening, hands-on, and interactive art “workouts” that will engage both your creativity and insight. Through group discussions and imaginative studio activity, discover inspiration in works of art while strengthening your artistic muscles by decoding (reading) and encoding (expressing) visual meaning. Open to all levels—novice to professionals. No previous art experience necessary. Learn in community. Surprise yourself! This course has a $10 materials fee, to be paid to the SGL. Please bring to the first class session either cash or a check made out to Renee Sandell.

Renee Sandell is a retired professor and active educator, author of three books, exhibiting artist, and founder/director of SummerVision DC—a museum bootcamp. She has received numerous awards for her leadership and scholarship on her Form+Theme+Context (FTC)® methodology as a Balanced Way of Seeing®. Renee teaches Visual Fitness 4 All: Engaging Creativity and Insight® hands-on workshops and courses in various venues including Smithsonian Associates Studio Arts, Rancho La Puerta and Yellow Barn at Glen Echo.
