9100: Anatomy of a Murder

February 2-5
9:45 AM - 11:15 AM
Online

This course will explore the sensational murder of government intern Chandra Levy, whose skeletal remains were eventually found in Rock Creek Park many months after she went missing. Did the Congressman she was having an affair with kill her? Someone else? We will examine this homicide trial through the lens of the key actors in the trial. A separate class will be devoted to: the detectives who investigated the case, former FBI agent Brad Garrett and MPD detective Todd Williams; the prosecutors, former Assistant US Attorneys Kevin Flynn and Deborah Sines; defense attorney Santha Sonnenberg; and the trial judge, Judge Gerald I. Fisher. Judge Russell F. Canan will lead the discussion. It is highly recommended class members watch the documentary, Chandra Levy: An American Murder Mystery (streaming on Amazon and other channels). This study group has a high class size capacity.
