Jumpstart your book project by delving into plot structure, the inner and outer journey, character development and growth arcs, world-building, high-concept ideas, theme, voice, tone, genre, narrator types, point-of-view tips, the writer's toolbox, and much more. We will also discuss insider secrets to getting published by traditional NYC publishing houses, working with an agent, and self-publishing. New material explores "The Geometry of Storytelling," and we will create a full "Plot in a Day." This ten-week workshop will challenge novices and pros alike to reexamine their ideas on how to write a bestseller. We do not critique participants' work in this study group and no reading is required.

Sophia Nash

Sophia Nash’s 13 novels have garnered 17 national awards—including the RITA Award and spots on the American Library Association’s review publication, Booklist's "Top Ten of the Year." Her novels have been translated and published in a dozen countries. Booklist gave her last novel, Whispering in French ," a star and called it "a literary tour de force." Nash was an award-winning US television producer for CBS/Miami, and an international television producer in Washington, Paris, London, Geneva, and Moscow, where she produced the first-ever, live, interactive broadcasts to points in the western world. She was also a congressional speech writer, USIA/State Department Congressional Liaison, and CEO of a nonprofit organization.
