Just a year ago, the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo finally opened, 100 years after it was needed to house the contents of Tut-ankh-Amun's tomb, discovered in 1922. King Tut brought on Tut-mania during the Roaring Twenties and helped save the Abu Simbel temples in the Sixties. Now the Grand Egyptian Museum has won numerous engineering and design awards and is the newest sight in this very ancient land.

Beginning as a history and geography teacher, Bonnie Becker retired from Fairfax County Public Schools in the Department of Human Resources. She has been an adjunct instructor for the University of Virginia, taught English to refugees with the Washington English Center, and recently has given programs for OLLI at George Mason University. Some topics have been "A Red Carpet for the Bayeux Tapestry," "Ice Age Cave Art," "The First Declaration of Independence," and "Meeting Older Men: Neanderthals and the Ice Man."

No registration is required. The Zoom link will be e-mailed to all those subscribed to the OLLI newsletter the morning of the talk. If you do not receive the newsletter and would like to attend, please join the email list at https://www.olli-dc.org/join_email_list.
