The purpose of this course is to explore the four schools of Sixth- and Fifth-Century Greek philosophy–the Ionians, the Italians, the Pluralists, and the Sophists and Socrates.
Note: Participants can use either use the Complete Works if they have already taken the Plato course and thus have that big book (first option below), or, if they haven't, they can get the Protagoras only from Hackett (second option below).

Don RossDonald Ross received his bachelor's degree in philosophy from Wake Forest University in 1970, his master's from the University of Iowa in 1972, and his doctorate from the University of Chicago in 1979. His concentration in graduate school was in ancient philosophy.
