9620: Experience Poems and Pictures
February 9-13
9:45 AM -
11:15 AM
Online
Participants in the class will view paintings by African American artists or those that evoke experiences reflecting Black history, and then write poems in various genres to share their viewing experiences. The conversations and feedback in small-group and full-class settings enhance the experience for students and their instructor as students share their self-selected pictures and drafts of poems written during class and for homework. The two-fold goal of experiencing poems and paintings will help inspire writing that can be self-published as an electronic booklet of poems generated during the five-day course that participants can share with family and friends.
